Job Description

The Designer for Ship Interior Construction (m/f/d) plays a crucial role in designing and implementing high-end, functional interiors for luxury yachts, work vessels, and other marine applications. Working within an established engineering office in Hamburg or Kiel, the Designer will be responsible for translating client visions into precise technical drawings, ensuring the smooth integration of interior elements. The position involves working closely with a team of engineers and designers, actively contributing to the development of innovative and luxurious ship interiors, and ensuring that all designs adhere to the highest industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create installation and integration drawings according to design and shipyard specifications.
  • Develop construction details and technical documents based on client needs.
  • Perform plausibility checks on drawings to ensure accuracy.
  • Update planning documents due to any changes or corrections.
  • Participate in project teams to ensure smooth collaboration throughout all phases of the project.

Qualification
  • Completed training as a carpenter, wood technician, master carpenter, or equivalent qualification in interior construction.
Skill & Experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D and MS Office; experience with SolidWorks is advantageous.
  • Completed training as a carpenter, wood technician, master carpenter, or equivalent qualification in interior construction.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills; German language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, while also demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Quick comprehension and a responsible, committed approach to work.
  • Valid Class B driving license.
