Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and talented Naval Architect with a strong background in yacht design to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with technical expertise, a creative mindset, and a passion for cutting-edge yacht design.
Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create and refine yacht hull forms, structures, and systems in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
- Technical Calculations: Perform stability, resistance, and propulsion calculations to ensure performance and safety.
- Technical Documentation: Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models using CAD software.
- Feasibility & Risk Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new yacht projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and designers to integrate design and engineering solutions seamlessly.
- Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss design concepts, technical details, and project status.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on advancements in naval architecture, yachting technologies, and industry standards.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and construction processes comply with relevant regulatory and classification society standards.
Qualification
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
Skill & Experience
- Industry Experience: Proven experience as a Naval Architect in the yachting industry.
- Software Proficiency: Strong command of naval architecture software (AutoCAD, Rhino, etc.).
- Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of yacht design, hydrodynamics, and structural analysis.
- Drawing & Modeling Skills: Skilled in creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with classification society requirements (e.g., Lloyd's Register, ABS, DNV GL).
- Analytical & Creative: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a creative, analytical approach.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
- Educational Background: Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Credentials: Certification or membership in a relevant professional body is a plus.
